Lexstra began life as a specialist IT contract recruitment agency. Consequently we are intimately familiar with the contract market and know what qualities freelance IT professionals value in an agency. Many of the consultants we placed in assignments in our early years are now senior managers and directors in the technology field, utilising Lexstra to source consultants for them, as they were very impressed with our recruitment methodology when they were themselves applicants.

We focus on delivering excellence in the core functions that are of most importance to the freelance IT professional. These are:

• Locating a suitable contract opportunity, one which matches the consultant’s professional, geographic and financial requirements.
  
  
• Managing the selection and hiring process as professionally and effectively as possible, with open and free communication between all three parties, the consultant, Lexstra and the hiring client.
  
  
• Paying contractors promptly. We pay twice a calendar month, with a consultant receiving cleared funds on the Friday of the week following the week in which the invoice was received. This means a “worst case” turnaround of a mere nine working days, and a best case of just five.
  
  
• Supporting the consultant on assignment. All our freelancers have a dedicated Lexstra Account Manager to whom she or he can turn for assistance should the need arise.
  

The financial strength and solidity of an agency is of key interest to its freelancers. Through a prudent policy of profit retention, low overheads, careful client vetting and steady sales growth, Lexstra has a very strong balance sheet at just under seven figures and substantial cash reserves. We have no need to factor our invoices or utilise an overdraft to meet our commitments. Our latest accounts are available on request.
